NORDLOTS-LIFE

NordLOTS-LIFE is a Nordic follow-up study designed to investigate long-term outcomes after treatment for obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD) during childhood and adolescence.

The study follows participants from The Nordic Long-term OCD Treatment Study (NordLOTS), who between 2008 and 2012 received exposure-based cognitive behavioral therapy at child and adolescent mental health outpatient clinics in Norway, Denmark, and Sweden.

The primary aim of the project is to generate increased knowledge about participants’ adult outcomes and to identify factors that have facilitated or hindered improvement over time. The study employs a multimethod design combining questionnaires, qualitative interviews, and registry data from national health registers.

The specific objectives are:

1.    To examine how former patients themselves describe helpful and hindering factors in their recovery process.

2.    To map the long-term trajectory of OCD symptoms and mental health following treatment during childhood and adolescence.

3.    To identify individual and contextual predictors of quality of life and functioning in adulthood.
