We focus on enhancing patient safety by providing practical training in a safe and supportive learning environment.
Medical simulation was introduced as a method for training and educating healthcare personnel at Ahus in 2009. The Centre for Medical Simulation (SimAhus) was subsequently established in 2011.
The centre serves as a central venue for training and skill enhancement in both technical and non-technical skills.
Focus Areas
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
- Observation skills (proACT).
- Scenario and team training, both at the SimCentre and “In-situ”.
- Training and guidance of the hospital's instructors and facilitators.
- Innovation and development of new training methods, including the use of VR technology.
The staff at the centre are senior facilitators with specialised training in intensive and anaesthetic nursing.
