Centre for Medical Simulation (SimAhus)

SimAhus is a simulation centre aimed at promoting learning through courses, skills development, and simulation training.

We focus on enhancing patient safety by providing practical training in a safe and supportive learning environment.

Medical simulation was introduced as a method for training and educating healthcare personnel at Ahus in 2009. The Centre for Medical Simulation (SimAhus) was subsequently established in 2011.

The centre serves as a central venue for training and skill enhancement in both technical and non-technical skills.

Focus Areas

  1. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
  2. Observation skills (proACT).
  3. Scenario and team training, both at the SimCentre and “In-situ”.
  4. Training and guidance of the hospital's instructors and facilitators.
  5. Innovation and development of new training methods, including the use of VR technology.

The staff at the centre are senior facilitators with specialised training in intensive and anaesthetic nursing.
