Akershus University Hospital has extensive research activities. Research is part of our core business. Active research environments help to strengthen the quality of the treatment offered. Therefore, the research is closely integrated with the clinical part of the business.

Increased knowledge about diseases

The research at Akershus University Hospital will benefit many. Our research groups contribute to this by increasing knowledge about diseases that affect large groups of patients. Many of the patients participate in research projects and student teaching, which helps us to develop an ever better treatment offer.

Innovation that springs from research is also an important area of ​​focus. It makes us equipped to face the future. Our research environments work actively to develop new tools for diagnostics and treatment, so that even more patients can get help.

The Research and Innovation Division (FI​D) has delegated responsibility for research and innovation at Ahus. FID is organized in 2 departments; department for health service research and department for research support.
