Research Articles

In 2025, researchers affiliated with Ahus published a total of 94 cancer-related scientific articles, achieving a cumulative impact factor (IF) of 787.7, corresponding to an average impact factor of approximately 8.4 per publication.

The proportion of high-impact publications remains strong, with 14 articles published in journals with an impact factor above 10, and 15 articles in the 5–10 impact factor range. This demonstrates sustained excellence in accessing top-tier journals.

Clinical Studies

In 2025, there were 60 clinical studies in cancer at Ahus: 18 studies with inclusion and 42 active studies without inclusion.

Innovation

Innovation activity has been modest, with seven Disclosures of Invention (DOFIs) over the past five years. Currently, two projects have pending patent applications, focusing on biomarkers for prostate and breast cancer. 

Funding

Akershus Clinical Research Center (ACR) received NOK (norwegian currency) 43.6 million in 2025, up from 14.6 million in 2024. Of this 42 million (97%) came from external sources, with the South-Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority (Helse Sør-Øst) as the largest contributor.

Internal funding, excluding salaries and basic operating costs, has increased gradually, reaching 7% (NOK 2.75 million) in 2024, but falling to 3 % in 2025.

Over the past six years, cumulative funding reached NOK 170 million, averaging NOK 28.4 million per year, although annual amounts have fluctuated significantly.
