Ahus Cancer Research Centre

The Cancer Research Center is a virtual center that consolidates and strengthens cancer research at Ahus and Campus Ahus UiO. Its goal is to increase collaboration between researchers and clinicians across departments, and to promote innovation and quality in cancer treatment.

Cancer Research Committee

The Cancer Research Committee aims to strengthen and unify cancer research across the hospital, identify shared needs, and contribute to the strategic development of the research environments. The committee consists of research leaders from various divisions at Ahus involved in cancer‑related activities.

Through collaboration and joint prioritization of key focus areas, the committee works to facilitate high quality, improved research infrastructure, and greater visibility of cancer research at Ahus.

We operate with a vision of being a leading center where research is an integral part of patient care. In this work, patient focus, innovation, collaboration, and quality are fundamental values.

 

Research Groups

EpiGen – Campus Ahus/UiO

Epigen researches molecular mechanisms of cancer, including mathematical cancer biology, metabolism, and transcription defects in cancer. It offers advanced infrastructure for biomarker studies and precision medicine.

Clinical Radiology

The research group for clinical radiology develops and evaluates advanced imaging diagnostic methods for cancer, including screening, MRI, and interventional studies, with extensive collaboration both nationally and internationally.

National HPV Reference Laboratory

The National Reference Laboratory for Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is responsible for quality assurance of HPV testing and vaccine monitoring, as well as research on biomarkers and viral genomes for improved risk assessment in cervical cancer.

Translational Cancer Research Group (TCRG)

Research on breast cancer, melanoma, and urogenital cancers with a focus on personalised treatment and biomarkers.

Clinical and Molecular Oncology in Colorectal Cancer (CMOR)

Studies the combination of chemotherapy and immunotherapy, biomarkers, and functional precision medicine for advanced bowel cancer.

Cardiotoxicity of Cancer Treatment (CRG)

Internationally leading in cardio-oncology, with research on cardiac toxicity of cancer treatment and the development of biomarkers and protective strategies.

Surgical Research Group (SRG)

Extensive research on surgical methods and patient safety, aiming to integrate innovation into clinical practice and strengthen international collaboration.

Center for Hematology Research (CEHRA)

Research on blood cancers and thrombosis, including clinical studies and biomarker development, in collaboration with national and international partners.
